1. The basic plotline of Jeet was blatantly lifted from Prakash Mehra’s Muqaddar Ka Sikandar with Salman Khan playing Vinod Khanna, Sunny Deol playing Amitabh Bachchan,Karisma Kapoor and Tabu in the roles that Rakhee and Rekha played in the original.Interestingly Karisma’s mother Babita had also done a film titled Jeet in 1972 where she co-starred with Karisma’s future father Randhir Kapoor.
2. As per the script, Tabu’s tawaif’s character loved goonda Sunny Deol who loved the much-married Karisma Kapoor.Salman Khan played a secondary role of Karisma’s husband because his friend producer Sajid Nadiadwala requested him to.
3. Tabu who couldn’t dance to save her life was made to prance to the tune of Nadeem and Shravan’s Dil ka kya keren saheb which was supposed to be Rekha’s Salam-e-Ishq from Muqaddar ka Sikandar revisted.Ha ha. But then love is blind. And producer Sajid Nadiadwala was blindly besotted by Tabu.
4. In a dream sequence Sunny Deol was made to dance with Karisma and one must admit Tabu danced better than Sunny who moved his legs as if they were weighed down by tons of iron. Come to think of it everyone in this film was doing what he or she was not supposed to.
5. Jeet came in 1996 which was a big year for both Sunny Deol and Karisma Kapoor.Sunny had two major hits Ghatak and Jeet. Karisma too gave a double hammy Jeet and Raja Hindustani.
