Jennifer Aniston rose to fame thanks to her role as Rachel Green on Friends, and while fans adore her, it appears her then-boyfriend, Counting Crows’ Adam Duritz, had “no notion” who she was. In a recent appearance on VICE TV’s Dark Side of the ’90s, the musician discussed his 1995 connection with Aniston, recalling how they were introduced through mutual acquaintances. Duritz remembers dating Jennifer at a time when Friends was just getting started and was on its way to being the worldwide phenomenon it is today.
According to Just Jared, Adam may be seen sharing the story of how he met Jennifer and how they started dating in a sneak look at the upcoming episode. “A bunch of my friends lied to me and told me she had a crush on me. Those same friends lied to her and told her I had a crush on her. I honestly had no idea who she was; I had been on the road during all of the Friends.
I hadn’t seen it, I don’t think,” Duritz said, adding that it was the work of their mutual friends. While Adam said that both Jen and he were duped into dating, he had the greatest words for his ex, describing her as a “very wonderful, really funny, extremely gorgeous” woman. Their connection, according to the rock band’s vocalist, did not endure long.
