The military recruitment of BTS members has sparked a number of inquiries, such as why they are not qualified for exemption despite their significant contributions to their country.
According to the South Korean government, BTS members must participate in South Korea’s conscription into the military in order to serve their country.
A select few persons have occasionally received exemptions from the military.
These K-pop stars and musicians received exclusions, along with justifications for those exemptions.
MC Mong
MC Mong was first exempted from the requirement to serve in the military because he lacked 12 molars. According to the Korean military service law, anyone who loses nine teeth is exempt from serving in the military. Later on, it was discovered that MC Mong had intentionally pulled out 12 teeth in order to escape serving in the military.
Jung Woo Sung
The actor was excused from Korean military service since he failed to meet the prerequisites in his academic studies.
Uhm Hong Sik
Sungkyunkwan Scandal is the actor’s most well-known role. He reportedly had a bone tumor discovered. He was therefore excused from performing his conscription.
Park Hae Jin
Because of his sadness, the well-known Korean actor who appeared in hit movies like “My Love from the Star” was granted an exemption.
Jung Suk
The “Hospital Playlist” actor was exempted from military service because he would have to care for his mother alone if he were to serve.
