Baahubali: The Beginning was a hit, but no one really expected that the first film in the two-part franchise will become such a game-changer for Indian cinema. Baahubali 1 cost Rs 180 crore, while Baahubali 2 budget stood at Rs 250 crore. From its trailer to music launch, releasing of books to film-related merchandise, every Baahubali event was a lavish affair. However, do you know that Prabhas and Rana Daggubati were not the first choice for Baahubali?
As per a few reports in Bollywood Life, Hrithik Roshan was offered the titular role in Baahubali by SS Rajamouli. However, allegedly the Jodha Akbar actor was not keen on associating with another period drama and thus, rejected the role. The role then fell into Prabhas’s kitty.
On the other hand, filmmaker SS Rajamouli wanted to make Baahubali as a Hindi film with Bollywood stars. Apart from Hrithik Roshan, reportedly, John Abraham too was offered a role in the magnum-opus. He was allegedly offered the role of Bhalladeva but he rejected the offer. The role was later portrayed by Rana Daggubati.
