Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma left no stones unturned in nailing in Band Baaja Baaraat. It was Ranveer’s debut movie, which made Anushka his first and a very special co-star. There were rumours that the duo being involved in a romantic relationship. However, they never denied or accepted their love in the public’s eyes.
Now, married to Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh had bared his heart out on the celebrity chat show, Simi Selects India’s Most Desirable in 2011. As per reports in Zoom TV, the actor spoke openly about his struggles to become an actor, financial problems, sharing screen space with Anushka, and more.
Ranveer started as assistant director and was hustling day and night and also ended up gaining weight. He said, “Then I started working out, did theatre for 10 months, started getting offers, said no to offers from great producers, and waited for my dream break.” Ranveer also said that he “got a crazy casting couch offer.” “Things got really bad as my struggle period coincided with the recession, so I really hit rock bottom. My family was also not having the best of time financially. But my family is my grounding experience.”
However, soon, the actor got his break. “First time in their history, YRF (Yash Raj Films) launched a lead solo hero who was a newcomer.” Now, he says, he has “no time to pause and see what all is happening around.” Talking about Anushka, he called her beautiful and amazing. “I think Anushka deserves someone much better than me.” He also said that he is comfortable shooting steamy scenes with Anushka. “I can do a s*x scene with Anushka again because she’s a very supportive co-star.”
