At some time in their lives, everyone has always been fascinated with the detective series Sherlock Holmes. The perfect detective who is too intelligent and good at solving crimes as if a child’s play. And this more than a hundred-year-old 221B Baker Street detective created by Arthur Conan Doyle is one of the most celebrated literary works that has taken forms into theatre, films, television shows, and more. Several artists and actors have superficially played the Sherlock Holmes character, but not everyone had the same impact on the masses.
The most iconic character was portrayed by two famous actors, also known for their Marvel comic roles. The Iron Man– Robert Downey Jr. and Doctor Strange– Benedict Cumberbatch have also been Sherlock Holmes. We watched Robert Downey Jr. appear in a movie franchise where Benedict Cumberbatch was in the modern Sherlock Holmes series by BBC. Both of them were excellent in their roles and gave the detective it’s due justice of being portrayed perfectly.
There have been diverse debates as to who was a perfectionist and fit the Sherlock Holmes title correctly. Looking at the Benedict Cumberbatch BBC series, which is set in the modern-day version, was unique. He did brilliant acting and was a great piece of work, keeping the audience hooked to their seats until the very last minute.
Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of the character was in a film, and he was a phenomenal actor for the 3h long film. He did a splendid job proving his versatile acting.
