Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Nayanthara To Sai Pallavi: South Divas Who Created Chaos With Controversial Statements

Celebrities who got engaged in controversial statements.

Acclaim and controversies go hand in hand. Celebrities often get into controversies and tough situations that leave a bad taste. There are many celebrities who have had a brush with such controversies.

A report in bollywoodlife.com talked about it and we take reference from that story for our write up here.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu:

Back in 2014, Samantha had slammed the poster of Nenokkadine where Mahesh Babu was seen walking on the beach and looking at Kriti Sanon who was following him on her fours. She took to Twitter and called the poster deeply regressive. Mahesh Babu had expressed displeasure with Samantha and said that Samantha knows me and my wife Namrata. If she found anything regressive about the poster she could have checked with me first. Instead she went and poster her views online. She shouldn’t have done that. At least she could have tried to speak to us. Since then, they didn’t appear in a movie together.

Nayanthara:

Nayanthara had openly expressed that she regretted signing film Ghajni. She had said, ‘I consider doing Ghajini the biggest mistake in my career. While signing the film, I got a narration for my role but it didn’t turn out the way as promised. I felt cheated. My character was quite different from how it was narrated. From then on, I made a conscious choice to listen to scripts properly.’

Sai Pallavi:

Sai Pallavi is currently in the headlines for her statement about Kashmiri Pandits. She was quoted saying, ‘I was disturbed after I watched the Kashmir files. I would never belittle a tragedy like the genocide and the generations of people that are still affected by it. Having said that, I can never to terms with a mob lynching incident that had taken place during Covid times. I remember seeing that video and being shaken for days.’ This created quite a stir and now the actress has issued a clarification too. In a video shared, she said, ‘I will be thinking twice before I speak my heart because I am anxious that my words may be misinterpreted.’

Tamannaah Bhatia:

Tamannaah had found herself at the end of criticism when she had talked about actors doing charity work and publicising it. It has to be to each his own because we do what we essentially believe in. If you really want to help someone, in my opinion, I don’t like talking about it. On the other hand, there are some people who think showcasing it is a way of spreading the message. I just come from a different school of thought. And I don’t like talking about it because it doesn’t make sense to me as to if I’m busy helping someone, why should I be showcasing? I don’t connect that way, she had said. Her statements had irked lot of actors in the industry.
