Kareena Kapoor and Ameesha Patel’s war of words have always made headlines, and today we shall take you back to the time when the two made controversy with Yaadein and Kaho Na Pyar Hai. It is known to all that it was Kareena Kapoor, who was to debut with Hrithik Roshan in the film. But even after shooting for few days, she opted out of the film and Ameesha Patel came out to be the gainer.
The film was a hit and Hrithik and Ameesha’s chemistry got immense love and recognition from the fans. But since then, a cold war has been emerging between Kareena and Ameesha. As stated in an article by India Today, Kareena once said, “Hrithik’s dad spent five hours on every frame and close-up of his son, whereas not even five seconds were spent on Ameesha. There are portions in the film where she has pimples and under-eye bags on her face. If I were in the film, I would have definitely got a better deal, but I still feel that the attention would have been divided between us. So, I’m glad I didn’t do the film.”
However, with time, the next year, 2001, with the film Yaadein, by Subhash Ghai, was signed by Ameesha Patel, but because of her unavailability, the film went to Kareena Kapoor. But years later, Patel said that she got replaced with Kareena Kapoor for “Filmy Politics”.
