When it comes to skincare and anti-aging, some celebrities stick to the most basic and tried-and-true beauty, diet, and exercise techniques, and Charlize Theron is one of them, happily for us.
The 43-year-old South African-born actress Theron spoke to BAZAAR U.S. about the distinctive wellness secrets that have helped her become one of Hollywood’s most ageless celebrities from the beginning of her career.
Diet and Fitness Advice From Charlize Theron
“I’m lucky I’ve never been a couch potato,” says Theron, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t take exercise seriously. “It’s totally changed my body,” she admits to being a Pilates addict.
When it comes to physical exercise and cheat days, the mother of two says she talks to herself, saying: “I’m always calculating my activity. If I haven’t been moving a lot, I can’t eat a lot. Or maybe it’s a cheat day. But I’m honest with myself.”
When it comes to dieting (on a non-cheat day, no less), Theron prefers plant-based raw foods, according to her. Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Natalie Portman, and Gisele Bündchen are among the celebrities who have been known to eat a plant-based diet, so Theron is in good company.
She’s also discussed the effects of an alcohol-free diet, telling Red Magazine in 2017: “I have juices and kale and green salads every day. When I’m eating healthily, getting enough sleep, and not drinking alcohol, that’s when I look my best. That’s when I’m happiest, and I think it shows.”
