The k-pop girl group phenomenon is a recent phenomenon that began in the late 2000s. These groups are made up of female role models who have a high level of popularity and are managed by agencies. They are usually composed of three to nine members who each have their style but also share a collective aesthetic.
The fashion trend sweeping through the K-Pop industry is no surprise. When you have a group full of beautiful young women, it’s only natural that they want to look their best at all times.
But what about when they’re not on stage? What about when they’re just hanging out with each other? Do they still get dressed up? To find out, we decided to go through the history of Aespa’s group fashion and see how it evolved.
The style trends that these girl groups adopt have changed over time, which can be seen in the evolution of their outfits and overall appearance. The first k-pop girl group was Kara with their first CD album called “Kara” in 2006. They had an innocent, cute look with simple outfits and hairstyles. Their outfits were all black or blue, sometimes with white accessories like bows or bracelets or even dog collars around their necks or wrists. They also wore tight skirts or jeans shorts which showed off their legs. The second generation of k-pop girl groups was Suga (2008), f(x) (2009), Sistar (2011), 2ne 1h (2012), Jeon So Mi (2013), EXO (2014), Red Velvet (2015), etc…
Over time, these k-pop girl groups evolved into more mature ones.
