Check out the famous songs of Arijit and Pritam.

Arijit Singh was born on April 25, 1987 (they would be 34 years old in 2021) in Jiaganj, West Bengal’s Murshidabad district. He attended Raja Bijay Singh High School in Murshidabad for his secondary education and Sripat Singh College in Jiaganj for his undergraduate studies. He started his musical education at home. His maternal grandma used to sing, and his maternal aunt studied music. Both his mother and his maternal uncle played the tabla. So the foundation of his family was music. At the age of 3, he got trained by the Hazari Brothers. He received instruction on the tabla from Dhirendra Prasad Hazari, Indian Classical Music from Rajendra Prasad Hazari, Rabindra Sangeet, and Pop Music from Birendra Prasad Hazari. He received a scholarship from the West Bengal state government to further his studies in Indian Classical Music when he was ten years old. So he grew up listening to classical music from Bengal and Mozart and Beethoven.

Pritam was born in Kolkata and is the son of music educator Prabodh Chakraborty. Pritam received his father’s early musical training and picked up playing the guitar while still in school.

After finishing his studies at St. James’ School and Presidency College, he attended a music school. Then, Pritam joined Chandrabindoo, a Bangla band. Earlier, he and his classmates from the Presidency had started a different band named “Jotugriher Pakhi.” Even at that time, they had a cassette produced under their name.

Jeet and Pritam only collaborated on one more movie, Mudda – The Issue, before amicably splitting up. Pritam’s career as a solo musician came to a grinding halt after the breakup as he wrote the music for a string of duds, including Fun2shh – Dudes In The 10th Century and Agnipankh. As a result, the movie’s box office performance suffered, and Pritam’s music did too. The music for Sanjay Gadhvi’s second movie, Dhoom, which was a huge hit in 2004, was instead written by Pritam. Both the song and the movie were successful.

After a year, Pritam followed up the success of Dhoom with a succession of chart-topping singles for Gangster, Chocolate, and Garam Masala. Additionally, he wrote the music for Life in a Metro and Dhoom 2 sequel. After that, he started a Metro band and wrote the music for Singh Is Kinng and Kismat Konnection.
