The Blackpink girls are undoubtedly a close-knit squad who know how to dominate the world entertainment stage with their presence. The last few years have been absolutely magnificent for Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rose as everything, starting from new songs to brand endorsements and commercial deals, all have worked out in their favour wonderfully. No celebrity is termed to be ‘popular’ enough until he or she becomes a part of a controversy, be it intentionally or unintentionally.
So today, we share with you all, three major controversies that the Blackpink girls were a part of as per reports in Zoom
Music Video Rows: Blackpink received severe criticism for their songs like How you like that, Ice Cream and Lovesick Girls. They were criticised for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments in the ‘How You Like That’ video by placing a picture of Ganesha on the ground, referring to Moses in Lisa’s Ice Cream rap and Jennie’s nurse outfit in the Lovesick Girls music video. It was later reportedly resolved
The Panda Controversy: The Blackpink girls received some serious backlash from the Chinese for cuddling a baby panda. Pandas are a matter of national pride in China and them being vulnerable species has made people more protective of them.
Jennie’s Dating Scandal: This one has to be the most unnecessary and ‘blown out of proportion’ kind of controversy. Jennie was first rumoured to have been dating EXO’s Kai and later rumoured to be dating Big Bang’s G-dragon. Although it is entirely her choice whom she wants to date, it became a subject of discussion for a fairly long time.
