Billie Eilish has discussed her tumultuous connection with social media and how she manages it. The 19-year-old singer has admitted to feeling “conflicted” over whether or not to post certain “intimate facts” about her life online. The Bad Guy singer, on the other hand, has spoken out about why she feels a feeling of responsibility to expose her life online.
Eilish spoke candidly about the matter with British rapper Stormzy for i-D, as reported by ET Canada. She even happened to say that she doesn’t always want the world to know “intimate facts” about herself or her life. “I don’t want people to know everything about me,” the Happier Than Ever singer explained, “but I do want them to feel seen and heard if they’ve ever gone through the same things I have.”
Eilish described how difficult it is to be an online presence because she doesn’t always want to discuss certain topics. The Grammy winner stated that she owes no one anything and that the obligation is not hers, calling it a “difficult responsibility.” ‘I’m still figuring it out,’ Eilish remarked.
Eilish admitted that she can’t avoid her social media presence because she seems to be everywhere. “I’m all over the place. I pity the folks who despise me since they can’t escape me either,” she explained. Eilish stated unequivocally that her major goal is to “create music,” and that she does not want people who do not know her personally to know anything about her and would rather focus solely on writing songs.
