Jennie Kim, better known by her stage name Jennie, is a South Korean singer and rapper born on January 16, 1996. Jennie was born and reared in South Korea, but she moved to New Zealand to study for five years before returning to Korea in 2010. She debuted as a member of YG Entertainment’s girl group Blackpink in August 2016. With the single “Solo,” Jennie made her solo debut in November 2018. The song was a commercial success both domestically and globally, topping both the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart.
