Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran, according to Camila Cabello, are her musical “inspiration.”
The singer sought counsel from both musicians early in her career and commended them for being willing to coach her.
She stated, ” “I’ve been fortunate enough to have individuals show me kindness at various times. I fell in love with songwriting when I was 16, 17, and still in Fifth Harmony. I remember approaching Taylor Swift and saying, “Hey, what do you do when you’re in a writing slump?” or something along those lines, and she was quite gracious. Also Ed Sheeran. I was ecstatic that they were even talking to me since these were my songwriting idols.”
Camila also mentioned how “wonderful” it is for her music to make her family pleased.
For her new album ‘Familia,’ the 24-year-old singer collaborated on the song ‘Lola’ with Cuban musician Yotuel, whose hit ‘Patria y Vida’ became an anthem for the demonstrations in Cuba following food and medication shortages, as well as power outages, as COVID-19 cases continue to climb.
Camila also explained that for her and her family, “connecting” into her Cuban ancestry has been very significant.
Camila said : “The comments I’ve had that matters a lot to me right now ” . “I composed a song called ‘Lola’ with Cuban musician Yotuel for my current album, drawing on my family, history, and legacy as a Cuban and Mexican lady.” “Talk about strong music — this accompanied a movement that gave the Cuban people the courage to get out there in the streets and battle for the first time in 60 or 70 years.”
