Legendary Asha Bhosle, one of the greatest playback singers in the Indian Film Industry, recorded over 10,000 songs for more than 800 movies. Even though every genre of music was in her vocal range, she especially nailed sensual songs or Western-style songs. Asha Bhosle had a talent for making songs as per the actress from Zeenat to Urmila, smolder on screen like never before.
Asha Bhosle same like her sister, the legendary Lata Mangeshkar, was taught by her father, Dinanath Mangeshkar classical music and it didn’t take long before she became a playback singer. Her debut was with the film Chunaria in the year 1948. After which it took a long way to reach the top. While from 1948 to 1957, she was the one who sang more songs than anyone else, though all of them were from small movies or releases, and whatever big project she got it was a collaborative singing with big singers like Shamshad, Geeta Dutt, or her sister Lata Mangeshkar. And unfortunately having a bad marriage life that isolated her from her family, she had no choice but to take up all the projects that come her way to look after her children.
She got her big break in the year 1957 with the release of her some of best songs with O.P Nayyar. And after that, there was no looking back. And so we have listed some of her classic songs.
