Mamamoo is a South Korean girl group that was formed under RBW in 2014. The 4-member group includes Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein, and Hwasa. They are known for their extremely high energy and breath-taking vocal skills! Here are some interesting facts about them! Check it out:
1) Solar had originally thought of becoming a flight attendant but she was discovered by an agency when she sang for a free gift.
2) Moonbyul is a ’92 liner (idol born in 1992) along with Jin (BTS), Hani (EXID), Ken (VIXX), and Sandeul (B1A4). They even have a group chat together and hang out a bunch.
3) Wheein frequently watches mukbang (eating) shows and has proclaimed herself to be the ‘Snack Queen’ of the group.
4) Hwasa has a toy lion that she often mentions when the members talk about their pets since she is allergic to pets.
5) Solar and Eric Nam won the Best Couple award in 2016 at MBC Entertainment Awards for their appearance in We Got Married.
6) Moonbyul was once nicknamed ‘black hole’ since she sweats a lot.
7) Wheein is one of the loudest members and has a very contagious laugh. She also drops random freestyle raps and sings her heart out every now and then.
8) Hwasa is often mistaken to be the oldest because of her mature appearance and her husky voice, but she is the maknae of the group!
9) Kim Yong-Sun is Solar’s real name. Her stage name comes from the musical note ‘Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do’ since she is in charge of belting out those pesky high notes.
10) Moonbyul became the rapper of the group because of her skills on the mic, however, she had originally auditioned to be a singer.
11) Wheein once revealed her ideal type is a rapper like Beenzino. She is also a huge fan of the rapper.
12) While Hwasa often listens to old jazz and even loves to cook.
