Neha Kakkar was born in Uttarakhand, who later shifted to Delhi. They were not a rich family but came from a simple family. Her father used to sell samosa to earn a living. Neha and her sister Sonu Kakkar along with Tony Kakkar used to sing bhajans at jagaratas and earned 50rs. She then along with her brother Tony moved to Mumbai.
Neha Kakkar was a contestant at Indian Idol and later she rose to prominence and also came as a judge at the show. In 2008 she composed an album ‘Neha The Rock Star’ that was composed by Meet Bros. Her debut song was Dhating Naach for the motion picture Phata Poster Nikhla Hero and became instantly famous for her song Sunny Sunny which was a superhit. She also made another chartbuster London Thumakda.
