Yoon Chaekyung, the former leader of APRIL, will be leaving DSP Media. The corporation issued an official statement on April 22, 2022, via the group’s official fan cafe. While the group has previously declared that it would split in early 2022, the surviving members have remained with the organization. Now, the company’s previous head will be leaving as well.
DSP media said:
“Hello this is DSP media, Our musician Yoon Chaekyung and the firm have been contemplating future promotional actions. We have chosen to respect her desire to take on a new challenge in a different location after extensive conversations, and her exclusive contract with us will conclude on April 20, 2022.”
“We express our gratitude to her followers who have cherished her, as well as to Yoon Chaekyung, who has worked in a variety of fields for a long time. We hope you will continue to offer her your undivided attention and support as she approaches a fresh starting line. Wishing her luck with her new endeavor!”
“Thank you very much.”
Produce 101, a reality survival program, helped Yoon Chaekyung gain prominence.
She debuted as the leader and eldest member of APRIL after failing to make her debut with I.O.I. APRIL was embroiled in a bullying scandal involving former member Lee Hyunjoo, and as a result, the public shunned the group. Their disbandment was announced in January 2022 as a result.
