Did You Know? THIS Hit Song Of Britney Spears Was Actually Inspired By Kamal Haasan’s ‘Ek Duuje Ke Liye’

Did you know that Britney Spears' hit song Toxic was inspired by Ek Duuje Ke Liye, a film starring Kamal Haasan and Rati Agnihotri?

Bollywood musicians and music composers are frequently accused of plagiarising or stealing parts of songs from around the world. Many times, it is brought to people’s attention that a particular song was borrowed, duplicated, or influenced by the West. However, it appears that the roles have been flipped this time, as a Hollywood song has been inspired by a Bollywood tune!
The song ‘Tere Mere Beech Mein’ from Kamal Haasan and Rati Agnihotri’s 1981 film Ek Duuje Ke Liye influenced Britney Spears’ greatest hit song –Toxic, according to YouTube channel Insider. Britney Spears released Toxic in 2003, which would go on to become one of her biggest singles.
Britney’s career was in free fall at the time, and she hadn’t had a hit in almost four years. To say that Toxic resurrected her music career would be an understatement. The song’s catchy chorus is the only part of the song that has stuck with us.
However, a video by Insider analyses the music by chatting with vocalist Manasi Prasad and composer Adam Ragusea and indicates that the song Tere Mere Beech Mein from Ek Duje Ke Liye is the source of the hook.
The makers of Toxic selected two sections of the song and skilfully blended them together, resulting in the addictive hook, as shown in the video. Toxic by Britney Spears debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and gained critical acclaim.
