Usually, every year artists all around the world get ready to come together, celebrate music, with each other, receive awards and cheer the ones who didn’t. The whole vibe is full of joy and appreciation for all kinds of music. But in 2020 because of the widespread of coronavirus, many awards shows were cancelled, done virtually or done low key with very fewer people taking into consideration the social distancing rules.
One such award show that was held was American Music Awards 2020 which took place on 22 November. Dua Lipa got the golden opportunity to perform at this event. Her performance was broadcasted from London. She performed on her song ”Levitating” Dua Lipa’s performance was truly spectacular and left the spectators stunned. She didn’t just go home with applauds from the audiences for her performance but went home with an award which she won under the category of Favourite Female Artist- Pop/Rock.
The 2020 Billboard Women in Music virtual event took place on 10 December. After opening the show with a stellar performance Dua Lipa was honoured with the Powerhouse Award. The Powerhouse Award is given to someone whose music dominated streaming, sales and radio.
