RD Burman, the name that needs no introduction, is a legend in the world of music and has been credited with innumerable compositions and hit numbers in the decades he worked for the industry. Here are a few facts about this stalwart that will definitely leave you in awe of his great composer and musician of his time:
1. He is the son of the legendary Sachin Dev Burman and Mira Dev Burman.
2. He has served the music industry mainly as a music composer for over 3 decades until his death in 1994.
3. Burman was influenced by Western, Latin, Oriental and Arabic music, and incorporated elements from these in his own music.
4. He is also known to have introduced electronic rock popular in the Bollywood industry.
5. Pancham Da made his first on screen appearance on Mehmood’s Bhoot Bangla.
6. He married singer Asha Bhosle in 1980 and together they have given numerous stage performances and recorded duets.
7. From among the ocean of his incredible compositions, some of the most memorable ones were O Haseena Zulfon Waali, Tere Bina Jiya Jaye nana, Chingari Koi Bhadke, Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko, Ye Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge and so on.
