For more than a few years now, Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, better known as Badshah, has been creating waves in the music business. His tunes frequently appear on lists of the top movie soundtracks. His modest upbringing didn’t stop him from making extravagant displays in his hip-hop songs.
The following songs should be playing through your car as well because they are now blaring over big woofers in posh automobiles all around India:
DJ Waley Babu
Whether you like it or not, this was the year’s official party song. Extra brownie points go to a skimpily dressed Natasha Stankovic dancing in the desert while sporting spectacles and a nerdy appearance.
Abhi To Party Shuru Hui Hai
In this upbeat dance number from Khoobsurat, Badshah exhorts everyone to join him on the dance floor, or else they won’t have very happy endings.
Kar Gayi Chull
Kapoor and Sons included his own song, which he created using a Haryanvi dialect combined with English and Punjabi. The song is still popular.
Bandook
This was a lovely tune that gave his skill a much-needed break from the party songs. Yo Yo Honey Singh also sang a poignant song for MTV’s Spoken word segment.
Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai
Every year, the Salman blockbuster included one of his hit songs. While Selfie Lele from Bajrangi Bhaijaan was the song of choice last year, this year it was Sultan.
