On January 28 and 29, 2023, Mumbai will play host to the first-ever Lollapalooza music festival, a renowned multi-genre event in the United States. India is only the eighth nation to host the renowned festival after the United States, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France, and Sweden. For those who are unfamiliar, Lollapalooza is a four-day music festival that takes place annually in Grant Park in Chicago. Fans can anticipate hearing about the full artist lineup by the end of August. The music festival’s lineup is said to include a mix of Indian and foreign artists. J-hope and TOMORROW X TOGETHER by B.T.S. and other Indian K-pop artists may have made K-pop fans aware of this festival. J-hope, the talented rapper and dancer from B.T.S., performed as the official headlining act at Lollapalooza 2022 on July 31, making him the first Korean artist to do so at a significant American music festival. Additionally, on July 30, during the Lollapalooza event, BTS.’s labelmates TOMORROW X TOGETHER performed for the first time at a festival in the United States. The Reverse App/P.C. and Weverse TV App for International users will stream live performances by B.T.S. member j-hope and TOMORROW X TOGETHER.
While we would adore having all of the K-pop idols play at Lollapalooza 2023 in Mumbai, it is not exactly feasible. Nevertheless, we came up with a list of the six K-pop artists (including groups and individuals) whose performances we’d most like to attend in Mumbai in 2019.
K-pop fans united in the desire to see their favorite musicians perform in India next year as soon as it was revealed that Lollapalooza would visit Mumbai, India, in 2019. The entertainment and ticketing website Book My Show (B.M.S.) announced that it will co-produce and market Lollapalooza India with international producers Perry Farrell, W.M.E., and C3 Presents. In fact, Book My Show has been dropping cryptic hints about bringing K-pop titans B.T.S. to India, alluding to both their most recent album, Yet to Come, and J-second hope’s solo effort, Jack in the Box. This has ARMYs wondering if Mumbai will be included on Bangtan’s world tour schedule for the upcoming year.
It would be a tragedy for Lollapalooza India to go places without B.T.S., the largest musical group in the world, performing for their Indian ARMYs here in Mumbai. Members of Bangtan have previously stated that they had originally intended to tour India in 2020, but the COVID-19 outbreak tragically derailed their plans. When Indian ARMYs first learned that B.T.S. had once thought of visiting the nation but was stopped from doing so by the pandemic, they were both startled and dismayed. B.T.S. members own every stage and screen they set their eyes on, in addition to being the greatest musical act in the world. As a result, we can assure our readers that their Indian debut at Lollapalooza in 2023 will not fall short of anything top-tier and extraordinary.
The female group is in the final stages of producing a new album, which will serve as their first comeback in two years, according to a recent announcement from Y.G. Entertainment. Along with their comeback, BLACKPINK will also be starting the biggest world tour in K-pop girl groups’ history, which will last through the end of the year. The next BLACKPINK world tour is expected to include stops in India, and Lollapalooza India would be the ideal venue for K-pop stars to meet their local fans.
Stray Kids, one of the top K-pop groups of the fourth generation, are captivating live. We would love to hear the DOMINO singers play some of their “Thunderous” anthems for Indian STAYs because they are some of the top K-pop artists currently working. The eight-piece group’s skillful beats, energetic choreography, and potent lyrics have helped them perfect the art of making “noise music” stand out. Members of Stray Kids are the ideal candidate to perform at the Indian Lollapalooza in 2023 due to their charismatic stage presence and powerful stage performances.
