Fans were surprised when Ashton Kutcher revealed that he had lost his abilities to walk, hear, and see a few years prior. Kutcher discussed his experience with the uncommon autoimmune condition known as vasculitis in an episode of National Geographic’s “Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge.” “You don’t truly appreciate it until it’s gone,” he said, describing the severe symptoms he endured. Actress Emilia Clarke of “Game of Thrones” disclosed in 2019 that she experienced two potentially fatal brain aneurysms while portraying the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen, which left her with permanent damage. Clarke described the excruciating pain and nauseous feeling she experienced in the middle of a workout in an essay for The New Yorker. “I promised myself that I would not get paralyzed. To make sure that was accurate, I moved my fingers and toes,” she wrote. “Among other things, I tried to remember some lines from ‘Game of Thrones to keep my memory alive.”
