We have known Percy as actress Delnaaz Irani’s partner. He is a common face on Delnaaz’s social media page where the popular couple has been entertaining us with their innovative reels. Percy is also someone who has been constantly making music and has done substantial work as a DJ. It’s been some time now that he has left a stable corporate job and started making music full time.
Sharing more on his journey as a DJ he says, “I started my career as a DJ several years ago. I was driven by my passion for music and the desire to create unique soundscapes that resonate with people. The journey began with small gigs and gradually grew as I refined my style and sound. It has been an incredible journey full of ups and downs. The initial phase was all about experimentation and finding my niche, but once I found my rhythm, things began to fall into place. I have learned a lot about the industry, met amazing people, and grew not only as a DJ but as an artist too.”
There was a time when Percy was happy working in the corporate sector. He was handsomely paid as well. But he missed making music and then a day came when he finally decided to leave his job and focus fully on music.
He says, ”Music has always been a part of me. Even while working in the corporate world, I constantly missed the creative freedom and the excitement that comes with making music. That phase of my life made me realize that music is my true calling, and I knew I had to come back to it. The journey has been refreshing and liberating. Getting back into music full-time has allowed me to explore new sounds, collaborate with other talented artists, and focus on my passion. It’s been rewarding, both creatively and emotionally, and I am thrilled to see how the audience connects with my music.”
Percy has also started his own music company named Dj Percy Music Company. The company is specialising in producing background music (BGM), Title Track, Foley Effects & Songs. The company has successfully composed the background score for a new Web show and a movie.
Recently Percy has recreated a few old popular songs and got some great feedback. Sharing more on that he says, “I have recreated more than 350 classic remix songs & 2 original compositions, for Saregama & Universal Music. The feedback has been fantastic! Listeners have appreciated the nostalgic yet modern twist I have brought to these classics, particularly the relaxed and soothing vibe of the Lofi and chill mixes.”
When asked about his future plan Percy says, “I aim to continue pushing boundaries with my music. I am looking to collaborate with new artists, explore more genres like Afrobeat, Tech and Amapiano. I have dived into original compositions for web shows and movies through my company. My goal is to create music that resonates globally while staying true to my roots.”
