One Direction holds a unique position in music history. Everyone believed they knew everything about Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Harry Styles when this gigantic cultural phenomenon ruled the globe. Because of their famous status, the guys were often on the go and their lives were highly public. The lads had a nice appearance about them, which appealed to the teen population that grew up with a band poster or a favorite band member on their bedroom walls.
The appearance was not enigmatic in the least. But now that they’ve all established themselves as unique musicians, the amiable mystery of Harry Styles’ demeanor shines even brighter. His cover photograph for Beauty Paper magazine is the most recent example. Even before summer arrived, photos of the Fine Line singer wearing fishnet stockings sent the temperature skyrocketing.
The first millennium
In the beginning, Harry looked to be dressed in skinny trousers and a short-sleeved white t-shirt. Of course, he was collaborating with the band’s stylist, but his taste was evident even then. A 16-year-old was performing in front of hundreds of thousands of people while dressed in stylish-yet-basic clothing. One of the things that One Direction specifically avoided was being a homogeneous entity. They wrote an entire song about remaining true to themselves and explained why they would never look like a 90s band.
Harry had to cut his long locks after 1D, the Dunkirk year, in order to portray a World War II soldier in the British Army. The new slicked-back appearance was a lot more grown-up than before, and it was more Hollywood-friendly. There is one particular jade-colored double-breasted coat from the London global premiere of Dunkirk that has left an indelible imprint on yours truly. We are happy that the black and blue outfits with formal shoes only lasted for the advertising trip. Because Styles then proceeded to show off his sartorial prowess.
