I’m a Clean Spiritual Musician and That’s All I Want To Be! Says musician Amaal Mallik

Amaal Mallik opens up about Toxicity, Indie-Pop, and Much More. Follow till the end to get more updates.

Amaal Mallik is a 30-year-old Indian music director, composer, singer, background scorer, performer, and lyricist who has tasted success at a very young age. He along with his brother Armaan have worked together on many different projects and has received positive reviews from fans as well as critics.

Amaal who is very outspoken does not hold himself while speaking says he speaks for the future generation who wants to create their name in Industry. Amaal Mallik likes to describe himself as a clean, spiritual musician. “Some people don’t understand the fact that I need a lot of space, and don’t respond well when people attack and try to corner me. I’m like a three-year-old with a machine gun in those moments (laughs). But I’m a clean spiritual musician and that’s all I want to be, unadulterated. He added one should just quit a relationship “if it doesn’t make you healthy, mentally stronger, more fearless, bring a smile upon your face”.

Talking about Indie Pop, Indie pop is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. Amaal has studied Piano and is also trained in Indian classical music informally under his grandfather Sri Sardar Mallik. Amaal says it’s the fact that remixes of original songs are made. “That trend is now slowly depleting and it is on its way out in a year or a two. In the past, I have stated I have no problem with remixes. It’s the volume, if there are 100 songs, 80 are remixes and 20 originals is a bad ratio for a culture of music that has had legends to do such great work”.
