Giant Pink, the K-pop rapper was put under fire for one of her recent songs that dragged up quite a controversy. This track of hers, PINK was released on 29th December back in 2021. The lyrics of her song had a few verses from the Sacred Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita. There were quite a few Indian K-pop fans who did not appreciate this at all!

Desi netizens took to various social media platforms to share their disappointment and demanded an apology from Giant Pink and her agency, SM Entertainment. The fans were hurt and expressed that they couldn’t use Holysripture as ‘aesthetics’ for a music video.

The singer also took to social media to apologize to her hurt fans. She wrote, “Hello, I’m Giant Pink. There’s something I want to talk about my new song, ‘Pink.’ I would appreciate it if you could take your precious time to read it. Thank you:)”

She went on to refer to K Jun, the producer of the song’s statement that wrote, “When I started working on this song, I heard about Giant Pink’s pregnancy. First, in the intro, with the lyrics “Thank you for coming to me”, It contains congratulations to Giant Pink’s child.”

The producer saw that the rapper was quite popular in Southeast Asia and wanted to give more meaning to the fans “So [he] translated the word birth into Hindi, searched YouTube, and borrowed apart.”

The Producer had mentioned that the reason he borrowed that part was that he liked hearing Koreans get fascinated when listening to foreign songs.

K Jun further added, “I wanted to give fans that kind of welcome and I wanted to put a meaningful message into it. I didn’t know at all that it was a sacred story with a religious message. I didn’t try to use it only for slander or musical elements. I wanted to celebrate Giant Pink’s pregnancy for Southeast Asian fans. I apologize for using it without looking into it in more detail. It was done entirely based on my personal judgment and has nothing to do with GiantPink and SM.”

He concluded the message with, “I sincerely apologize once again to all the fans who are hurt and mad about it. The Song ‘Pink’ is currently being modified. I sincerely apologize once again.”
