According to the most recent Circle (Gaon) chart update, the band may have created history with their album. Well, this is what transpired! The album Girls by Aespa has reportedly sold a total of 1,645,255 copies and is currently rated No. 1 on their monthly sales chart, according to their monthly update for July. Girls previously established the record for the first K-Pop girl group album to sell a million copies, selling a total of 1,126,000 copies in its first week following its original release on July 8. According to data provided by the Circle chart, Aespa’s album has now surpassed all previous K-Pop girl group albums in sales.
This record was previously held by BLACKPINK of YG Entertainment, whose album The Album sold 1,506,730 copies in total. Now that they have sold 1,645,255 copies of their most recent album, Aespa has surpassed them. Not only that, but by ranking No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, they even reached the top 10. The girls are only the third female K-pop group overall to have done so, which is noteworthy. Additionally, they made history as the first female K-pop group to chart two albums in the top 20 of the Billboard 200.
