Hollywood, California (September 8, 2020) – BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky, Netflix’s first K-pop documentary, follows the rapid growth of the South Korean four-member superstar girl group BLACKPINK.
The film, directed by Caroline Suh, director of the Netflix docuseries Salt Fat Acid Heat, and produced by RadicalMedia, interweaves rare interviews with never-before-seen videos of BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, from their trainee days to becoming worldwide celebrities.
It highlights the highs and lows of being a K-pop idol group, as well as each member’s extraordinary skill, which when combined, produces BLACKPINK’s distinctly groundbreaking DNA. The video culminates with BLACKPINK’s historic 2019 Coachella performance, in which they became the first K-pop female group to take the Coachella stage.
