Katy Perry Shares The Advice She’d Give Her “Boy Crazy” Younger Self

Katy Perry Gives Advice to Her Younger Self Who Was "Boy Crazy"

Katy Perry has declared 2020 to be the year of surrender. The globe fell into lockdown shortly after she revealed her pregnancy with fiancé Orlando Bloom due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Aside from having a kid, her life was in a state of flux. Now fast forward to 2021, and the future is fully evident. Perry is the new mother of 9-month-old Daisy Dove, has just announced her impending Las Vegas residency, and released the music “Electric” for Pokémon’s 25th anniversary on May 14. POPSUGAR spoke with the pop icon on her history, present, and future — as well as the individuals who have always stood by her side.

The music video for “Electric” is inspired by Perry’s early days in the music industry as a teenager. Perry thinks that she “did a pretty excellent job” throughout that period of her life. “She remarked,” she said “I don’t have any regrets. I slipped, fell, and made errors. All of it taught me something. But I was a lovely lad gone insane. I believe I was constantly on the lookout for genuine love.” If she were to provide advice to her younger self, she would tell her to “lose some time to be emotional over the males,” even if “it did fuel the songs.”

“Don’t be concerned; keep swinging and making errors. Don’t bother with the comments. Don’t read the comments all the way down, and know-how to tell the difference between real life and online life,” she went on. “At least until they’re 35, boys aren’t mature.” Bloom gets a shoutout here; the couple met when he was 39. Daisy and maybe Bloom’s 10-year-old son, Flynn, would most definitely benefit from Perry’s knowledge, but she admitted he’s already offering her advice – on music, believe it or not.
