Kelly Clarkson has caught our attention with her quirky fashion in the decade since she won “American Idol.” She has gone from small-town girl to pop princess to rock diva. Take a look back at her journey from sweet all-American girl to rockstar siren, as well as her ever-changing hair color, which went from brunette to blonde and back to brown.
1. On Aug. 4, 2002, this adorable all-American girl makes her red carpet debut and delivers a feeling of innocence to the Teen Choice Awards. Kelly completes her ensemble with a jeans skirt and a white T with an American flag emblazoned on the front.
2. At the premiere of “Swimfan” on Aug. 19, 2002, the singer attempted to take a more fashion-forward approach as a result of her time in the spotlight. However, it’s evident that she was having a difficult time letting go of her denim obsession.
3. Kelly ditches the baggy appearance for a slimline Disney chic outfit during the premiere of “The Princess Diaries 2” in August of 2004. Kelly begins to tap into her inner glam at this point.
4. Kelly sparkles in a dazzling creation by Zuhair Murad at the ESPY Awards on July 11, 2007, making a victorious return to her glam look. She even starts to show off her legs!
5. Kelly wore a blue asymmetrical Carmen Marc Valvo dress to the Grammy Awards in February 2009, looking prom-ready. The dress was not the most flattering cut or color for the vocalist, and it fell flat.
