Imagine 4 generations of India growing up with the same voice. Lata Mangeshkar’s contribution to music and to the nation is astounding.
The Nightingale and Queen of Melody, with a trademark white saree, draped casually, hair neatly made into two plaits and that melodious voice. Yes, all that comes to our mind is the face of Lata Mangeshkar. She is the holder of the Guinness World Record for recording more than 35 thousand songs throughout her career. She has not only sung Hindi songs but also in other regional languages. She has lent her voice to all the leading ladies from the 1940s to the 1990s.
Lata Mangeshkar is the voice of the nation. A God-gifted voice led her to become the most successful personality in music. She has given us three major philosophies such as truth triumphs, sacrifice and martyrdom, and tolerance, through her songs like Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Jara Yaad Karo Qurbani, and Allah Tero Naam respectively.
Her voice is part of our musical heritage and she unequivocally deserved the Bharat Ratna award which she won in 2012.

It was a proud moment for the musical industry and Indians who say Hum Sabhi Hindustanion Ne Lataji Ke Suron Mein Parwarish Payi Hai.
