For the longest time, I thought I wasn’t qualified enough to judge a show – Singer Shaan

IWMBuzz gets into an interaction with the super-talented singer Shaan

For the longest time, I thought I wasn't qualified enough to judge a show - Singer Shaan 1

Singer Shaan as we all know is one of the most soothing voices of our music industry. The man has been mesmerizing us all with his lovely songs for the longest time. Songs like ‘Dil Yeh Mera Tumse Kuch Keh Raha Hai’, ‘ Chaand Sifarish’, ‘Jab Se Tere Naina’, and many more are some of his best works. An expert in the zone of singing, he has sung for all the 3 Khans of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan & Aamir Khan and it is definitely a feat not achieved by everyone. Not just a fantastic singer, he’s also a fantastic host and anchor. As Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is all set to complete 25 years, IWMBuzz got in a short conversation with Shaan. Read the conversation for more

It’s almost 25 years of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and you have been associated with it for the longest time. How does it feel to be touching 25 years?

Oh it’s wonderful. It’s been a long time and we have been gifted with some fantastic talents in all these years from the show. It’s been an ideal platform for young, raw, and talented singers to groom themselves and get better and the platform has done that perfectly.

You have seen it all almost. From fights to patch-ups to everything. What do you say about that?

Well, it’s a creative platform. Differences of opinion are bound to happen and when there are the best in the business judging, it’s normal. But we all ended the day with a smile and positivity and that’s all you want.

What do you enjoy more? Judging or hosting because you have done both. Which one?

I like hosting and its a lot about being spontaneous, to be honest. I didn’t have teleprompters like how they have now. But judging I feel is a lot of responsibility and for the longest time, I felt I was too young and not qualified to be a judge. But eventually, I became and it was a lot of responsibility.

Last but not the least, a message to all your fans and viewers?

Take care, stay safe. Times are difficult outside but we shall overcome all odds and come out victorious. Keep your prayers alive and stay positive.
