Radcliffe understood something had to be done even at such an early age.
2. Lady Gaga
Despite her success in music and acting, Lady Gaga opened up about her battles with post-traumatic stress disorder in December 2016. In a 2014 interview, Gaga revealed that she was the victim of rape when she was 19 years old. “It has helped me appreciate the anguish of others because of my own personal experience,” she says.
3. Adele
Last year, this Grammy winner spoke to Vanity Fair about her struggles with postpartum depression after the birth of her baby. “After I had my son, I had pretty horrible postpartum depression, and it scared me,” she says. She acknowledges that she didn’t take any medication and that she didn’t tell anyone about it. “I was hesitant,” she said.
4. Leonardo DiCaprio
The Oscar winner stated that he feels compelled to repeatedly go through doorways and step on chewing gum marks on the sidewalk. DiCaprio, on the other hand, has managed to keep his OCD under control, adding, “I’m able to say at some point, ‘OK, you’re being stupid.’ Stop treading on any gum stains you come across. You are not required to do so.”
5. Demi Lovato
Lovato has been a celebrity and performer since she was a teenager. She told her story of bullying, addiction, an eating disorder, cutting, and sadness when she was eighteen years old. During a television interview, Lovato said that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder while undergoing treatment for addiction and eating disorders. Lovato developed coping skills and learned to control and understand her emotions during this time. “I started to feel for the first time in my life,” she explained. Lovato is currently the celebrity ambassador for the campaign Be Vocal: Speak Up for Mental Health.
