Korean pop, also known as K-pop, has become a big phenomenon all over the world because of Hallyu, or the Korean wave.

Their songs are nothing less than an audio-visual delight due to the variety of genres they feature, the synchronized dance, the judicious camera moves, and the attention-grabbing fashion trends. While some of the most popular K-pop boy bands in the world are BTS and Twice, Korean girl groups are currently taking over the pop music market with their explosive performances and euphonious vocals.

BLACKPINK, one of the most well-known all-girl K-pop groups, made its debut in August 2016. With the most elevated first-day views of their 2018 single “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” off of their mini-album Square Up under the label YG Entertainment, the four-member South Korean pop group set a record.

BOOMBAYAH

By the time the song is over, all of your stress will have disappeared if you sing along loudly.

Twice the South Korean group’s nine members—Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu—made their stage debut in 2015. The original group of seven people came from the Sixteen survival reality show. Later, Tzuyu and Momo joined.

Cheer Up

It should be pretty clear why this TWICE song is the best mood booster!

Red Velvet, a K-pop girl group that originally had four members in 2014, currently has five members thanks to Wendy, Irene, Seulgi, Joy, and Yeri. Outstanding voice, eye-catching attire, and positive and edgy concepts helped the band achieve popularity.

The organization is overseen by SM Entertainment.

Power up

You’ll be taken to a completely different world by the catchiness of this summer song.

Momoland, a highly well-known South Korean female ensemble, has received recognition and awards for a lot of achievements.

In 2020, Momoland received the Korean Entertainment Arts Awards, the Korean Wave Idol Award, and the Group Singer Award for Korean Arts and Culture Awards.

One of the most well-known KPop bands under MLD Entertainment is Momoland. While watching the 2016 reality series Finding Momoland, they became friends.

There is a significant global fanbase for Dreamcatcher. They are the first all-female K-pop group to top the Next Big Sound Chart for Billboard in February 2021.

The trio, one of the best in K-pop, is renowned for using striking visuals and distinctively stylized choreography to depict “dystopian” tales.

Endless Night (2020)

A reasonably good, if unmemorable, Japanese offering, with the chorus’s electric guitar riff and a few well-placed power notes standing out.

Apink is a wonderful example of third-generation K-pop, just like Red Velvet was before them on this list (or late second – those lines can get a little blurry). Despite not receiving nearly as much attention as it should, this group’s popularity is growing steadily. They have a sweet, sort of bubblegum pop tone to their music and style, but as K-pop is blending into various genres, this sound has virtually become extinct.

I believe “Dumhdurum” is one of their best tracks to date, and they seem to be here to stay for some time to come.

Girls’ Generation, an eight-member female group, is managed by S.M. Entertainment.

With their song “Gee,” which topped the charts for almost two months and was hailed as the best song of the 2000s decade, the Girls’ Generation enjoyed tremendous success in 2009.

Due to their cross-cultural appeal (they teamed up with a Japanese label in 2010 to make their songs more palatable to Japanese fans) and distinctive bubblegum pop sound.
