In the music industry, the recently formed K-Pop girl group NewJeans has created a storm. Together, H.Y.B.E. and sub-label A.D.O.R. introduced a brand-new band whose songs and music videos have since left everyone in awe. The girls appear to be on a record-breaking binge because they have been smashing records ever since their recent debut. With everything they are accomplishing with just their debut E.P., it won’t be long before people start referring to them as the monster rookies of 2022.

Their most recent record is one with Spotify. On the day it was released, NewJeans’ self-titled first E.P. received 2.06 million streams, 226,000 total listeners, and 88,000 Spotify followers. Among all the K-pop girl groups who made their debuts this year, NewJeans set the top records in each of the three categories. Additionally, their tracks have kept a prominent position on the streaming platform. For instance, the top two songs on the Korean Spotify Daily Top Song chart were Attention and Hype Boy for consecutive days. Additionally, on August 2, K.S.T., Cookie, and Hurt both peaked at number five.

On the other hand, after it was removed from iTunes, the E.P. swiftly climbed to the top of the charts in numerous countries all over the world. At least nine different regions, including Thailand, Finland, Indonesia, Russia, and others, had NewJeans at No. 1 on the iTunes Top Albums charts as of 7 a.m. K.S.T. on August 2. Attention, Hype Boy, Cookie, and Hurt are all included on NewJeans’ debut album. Even better, they were able to sell more than 444,000 albums during the pre-order promotion. For a group that just made its debut a few days ago, that statistic is really intriguing.
