T-Pain

T-Pain is at the forefront of the auto-tune movement as a production technique (Faheem Rasheed Najm). T-Pain is a rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer from Tallahassee, Florida.

Growing up, he went by the stage moniker “Tallahassee Pain” since he went through a lot of misery. T-Pain became his moniker after he abbreviated his name. He exhibited an interest in music by the age of ten.

With a beatbox, keyboard, and four-track recorder, his bedroom became a makeshift studio.

Will.I.Am

William James Adams Jr., better known by his stage name Will.I.Am, is a chart-topping performer and a founding member of the Black Eyed Peas.

William was up in East Los Angeles, and it was his mother who encouraged him to pursue music. She recognized his potential and enrolled her son in West Los Angeles’ elite schools.

Her foresight and investment were well worth it. In 1988, William began performing alongside Allen Pineda and Dante Santiago, two of his eighth-grade classmates.

In 1992, Eazy-E discovered the group and signed them to his label. The group changed its name to Black Eyed Pods when Eazy-E died in 1995.

Time passed, and the Black Eyed Peas underwent another name change, one that would catapult Will.I.Am to superstardom: the Black Eyed Peas.

Kanye West

Even if you haven’t heard of him, you’ve certainly heard of him because of his ties to the Kardashian family and his antics at award events.

Despite his parents’ divorce when he was young, his mother and father had an impact on his artistic and psychological growth. His father, a former Black Panther, ultimately converted to Christianity and used Kanye’s money to create a counseling facility.

Kanye’s mother was an English professor who urged him to go to college. When he was in his teens, she also fostered his musical dreams. Kanye dropped out of Chicago State University to concentrate on his music. Kanye West is as diversified as any musician when it comes to music, making him difficult to categorize.

We need to check at his 2008 album, 808 & Heartbreak, to see how he utilized auto-tune. Kanye had recently experienced a breakup and had recently lost his mother.

When he sang, he desired a creative way to express his inner pain. He collaborated with T-Pain, who introduced him to the ability to auto-tune.

Travis Scott

Travis traveled between New York, Los Angeles, and Houston trying to break into the music industry before being discovered.

Travis began to gain musical traction in 2013 with the rap song “Upper Echelon,” after years of difficulties and disappointments.

If you listen closely, you’ll see that auto-tune is used throughout the record. It’s particularly noticeable at 3:00.

Travis is a rapper first and foremost, and when he does sing, it’s in a sing-song-rap style.

As a result, he doesn’t require pitch adjustment. Instead, he’s a rapper who uses auto-tune as a creative tool, modifying rap lines to produce different moods and emotional effects on his audience.
