Shreya Ghoshal is a very big name in Bollywood Music Industry. She has been in the industry now for more than 19 years, so one can imagine the experience she carries. Shreya is predominantly a playback singer in Bollywood Movies. She has won four National Awards, Seven Filmfare Awards among many other accolades. Her list of awards and accolades is never-ending, she has won it all.
Shreya was inspired to become a singer from a young age only. She started her formal training at the age of six. She participated in the television reality show “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” in the year 2000 and even went on to win the show. But she was noticed by someone very special over there that changed her entire life.
She participated in the reality show “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” at the age of 16 in 2000. Shreya was performing in one of the episodes of the show when Sanjay Leela Bhansali paid attention to her. Bhansali’s mother was watching the show on television and when Shreya came to perform, Bhansali’s mother knew about her talent and she called Sanjay to watch her perform. Sanjay decided that she will give a chance to Shreya in his next movie.
Shreya signed for Sanjay’s next movie “Devdas” and sang five songs for the movie. The movie and the songs from the movie all became huge hits and Shreya got the recognition and started getting work after that. According to Bhansali, Shreya had the innocence in her voice which he was finding among the singers for his songs.
