Sahana Bajpaie is a very famous Bengali singer as well as songwriter, she is one of the best contemporary Rabindra Sangeet singers in West Bengal. She started her profession as a singer at the age of 13, in the year 2007 she released her debut album named “Notun Kore Pabo Bole” being the collection of Rabindra Sangeet. After her second release of the album Shikawr and her Rabindra Sangeet album, Ja Bolo Tai Bolo has become very famous in West Bengal.
She said to media:
“Indian music outside India is for the most part traditional music; covering South Asian music overall. Taking everything into account, it is a lot of traditional and somewhat Sufi music. The crowd isn’t just Indian; there is a gigantic western crowd that goes to these shows, particularly in London. To the extent, Rabindra sangeet (Rabindranath Tagore’s melodies) is concerned, I think the diaspora crowd is more strong. This is because language is vital.
Along these lines, the Bengalis who settled external India frequently welcome me to introduce Tagore. Nonetheless, there are solitary cases, for example, the Alchemy Festival in London where I acted before a blended crowd. In these cases, the melodies are introduced in an alternate way whereby the introductions and welcome are made in English and deciphered implications of the tunes are passed on to assist the crowd with getting a charge out of and dig into the foundations of these tunes.”
Here are some of her best moments!!!
