Sunidhi Chauhan: "I'm A Child Who Is Always Learning"

Sunidhi Chauhan, a well-known singer who is branching out into independent music with hits such as ‘Firaaq,’ says she still feels like a student of music despite a career spanning more than two decades.

Sunidhi told IANS:

“I would say that my driving power has not changed since I was a youngster, I love music, I love singing. It was all about the thrill of singing when I first started out, and it still is. Even after all these years, I am still a lifelong student. So, as corny as it may seem, I still feel like I’m at the beginning of my trip! That is why I am seizing every opportunity to explore other musical genres.”

She began her singing career at the age of 12 and rose to fame in 1999 with the song ‘Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi.’ She has continued to release superhit singles such as ‘Mehboob Mere,’ ‘Dhoom Machale,’ ‘Beedi Jalaile,’ ‘Sheila Ki Jawani,’ ‘Ae Watan,’ ‘Kamli,’ ‘Tu Kuja,’ and many more since then.

Sunidhi mentioned: “My love for music has only gotten stronger. I believe that since I began singing for movies, not only has my perspective on music changed, but so has the way music has changed in cinema, in the independent sphere, and in the music business as a whole. I’m delighted that I’m a part of that transformation in some way. One of the reasons I get enthusiastic about new talents is that it allows me to grow as a person.”

In the year 2020, the singer began to delve deeper into the indie music scene.

She worked with a variety of singers and recorded songs such as ‘Kuchh Khaab,’ ‘Here is Beautiful,’ ‘Ye Ranjishein,’ and ‘Dil Todne Se Pehle.’
