Whether it’s because of a breakup or a public dispute, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez are no strangers to their drama making headlines. They’ve never ceased publicly supporting each other throughout their careers, though.
They’ve danced at award presentations, performed on stage together, and most recently promoted each other’s new music since becoming friends while both dating Jonas Brothers in 2008. Swift also made a cameo on Selena + Chef, Gomez’s new HBO Max culinary show. Despite the fact that the epidemic limited their time together, their bond has endured.
Gomez revealed how she and Swift met in a 2017 interview with KIIS FM UK, revealing that it was back in their early careers. “We used to go out with the Jonas Brothers! It was a laugh-out-loud moment, to say the least.” Going back to her relationship with Nick and Swift’s relationship with Joe, Gomez told the hosts.
“Because she was the girl with the enormous curly hair, and the bracelets, and the cowboy boots, it was incredible. And I was really on the rise, and we hit it off right away,” she continued. “It was the best thing that came out of those friendships.”
According to Gomez’s comments in September 2008, they may have been pals even before 2008. The two were first spotted together at the opening of Gomez’s film, Another Cinderella Story. Gomez provided viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the two’s bond. During a private hangout with Swift’s cat, Benjamin Button, Gomez shared images of herself and Swift. Gomez captioned the photographs, “Kinda missin this one.”
