Every barkada has that one snarky friend who thrives on honest conversation and dry humor. K-pop bands are no exception. We beg to differ–idols have a dark side, and a very amusing one at that–to those who aren’t familiar with various acts, boy groups and girl groups are full of fluff and aegyo (Google it and you’ll see what we mean).
We decided to pick up some of the leanest, meanest idols and list down their best moments, excluding veteran savages such as Heechul and Kyuhyun from Super Junior, Jessica Jung, and Key from SHINee.
But don’t get us wrong. They’re probably simply utter cuties on the inside.
GOT7’s Park Jinyoung (JR)
Jinyoung would undoubtedly take first place, or at the very least compete with BTS’ Suga, if we had to rank these guys based on the depth of their savagery. Jinyoung is known for his quick wit and scathing humor, which he frequently directs at the group’s youngest member, Yugyeom. He also has no qualms about shoving or stepping on any member who (literally) gets in his way. Jinyoung’s ruthlessness extends to his fans, as he dismisses or laughs off their declarations of love. He is also unafraid to call out anyone who does not speak in the right manner.
EXO’s Do Kyungsoo (D.O)
Kyungsoo used to be hesitant and apologetic when EXO first debuted. However, the longer the trio was in the spotlight, the more Kyungsoo revealed his true, nasty colors. International fans have dubbed him “Satansoo,” and he unleashes truth bombs faster than you can say Byun Baekhyun. He can also put you in a headlock and chuckle at the same time. Even Chanyeol of EXO, who is almost twice Kyungsoo’s size, flinches anytime he does something. We can’t blame Kyungsoo for retaliating; he’s also one of the most abused members of EXO.
Han Sanghyuk (Hyuk), VIXX
VIXX’s Hyuk is a nefarious demon who likes to use his words as a weapon. His sarcastic remarks are on par with those of fellow nasty Hongbin. Despite the fact that makes (the youngest members of a group) are supposed to be fluffy, Hyuk has sassed VIXX with his dry, smartass humor. He’s shaping up to be the next big “Evil Maknae.” Fun fact: he’s probably better than you in Overwatch, too.
BTS’s Min Yoongi (Suga)
Suga of BTS can slay his members just as well as he can kill verses in his rapping. He’s also one of Hallyu’s best-known savage idols, with his name nearly synonymous with the term. We’ll let the receipts speak for themselves.
Monsta X’s Yoo Kihyun (Kihyun)
Kihyun may appear innocent on the surface, but he is Monsta X’s resident bully. He doesn’t just give his members vicious retorts; he also gives them hard reality checks. And sometimes it literally crushes their happy moments. Check out this video of him blowing a bubble on IM’s fingertip and then giving no fucks.
