Kim Ji-soo was born in Gunpo, Gyeonggi, South Korea, on January 3, 1995. Grandparents, parents, an elder brother, and a sister make up Jisoo’s family. She was raised in a prosperous, established household where she was born. Jisoo previously shared a home with her parents, siblings, brother, and grandparents. She finished her elementary education in South Korea at the Seoul Performing Arts High School. She enjoyed playing basketball, taking taekwondo lessons, and watching TVXQ when she was younger. She founded the school’s drama club in her eleventh-grade year and gained more experience by auditioning.
After graduating high school, she registered at the Korea National University of Arts, earning her degree. She earned her music graduation. During her school years, she participated in musical theatre productions and was highly active in music and acting. She mastered English, Chinese, and Japanese in addition to her native Korean language. She appeared in several commercials and shared a cameo with labelmates Kang Seung-Yoon of Winner and Sandara Park of 2NE1 in the KBS2 drama The Producers in 2015.
