Twice (Korean: TWICE; Japanese: TWICE) is a JYP Entertainment female group from South Korea. Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu make up the group, which has nine members. Twice premiered on October 20, 2015, with the extended play (EP) The Story Begins, as part of the television show Sixteen (2015).
The trio made its debut in Japan on June 28, 2017, with the release of #Twice, a compilation album released by Warner Music Japan. With the biggest first-week album sales by a K-pop artist in Japan in two years, the album debuted at number two on the Oricon Albums Chart. Twice’s first original Japanese maxi single, “One More Time,” was released in October as a follow-up. Twice became the first Korean girl group to be certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) in the same year for both an album and a CD single. They were twice placed third in Billboard Japan’s 2017 Year-End Rankings in the Top Artist category, and in 2019, they became the first Korean girl group to embark on a Japanese dome tour.
