He is a recipient of numerous Lux Style Awards, he also received Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2008, the fourth-highest decoration given to civilians in Pakistan. Aslam’s work has received praise from several artists. Actor Suyyash Rai affirmed that he “developed an interest in singing” because of Aslam. Mika Singh praised Aslam’s singing as well. Ranbir Kapoor likes Aslam. Actor Varun Dhawan is a big fan of Aslam and always wanted him to sing his tracks in a film. He said: “I am a fan of Atif’s voice and really wanted him to sing for me. I didn’t know it will happen so soon!”, referring to the song “Jeena Jeena” sung by Aslam for the film Badlapur. Atif calls his fans Aadeez.
Aslam released his first album titled Jal Pari which was an instant hit. Several songs from his debut album, such as: “Bheegi Yaadein”, “Ehsaas”, “Mahi Ve”, “Ankhon Sey” and the title track “Jal Pari” went on to become major hits and charted across countries in the subcontinent.
Known for his soulful voice, he is very popular in Pakistan for his pop music and in India for his Bollywood hit numbers. No one can accuse Atif Aslam of being anything but a crowd-pleaser. A high dosage of charisma… that’s one way of describing his live events. The most amazing aspect of watching him live is to watch the spontaneity that the singer brings to his performances. He pauses in between songs to listen to the audience to continue singing it.
The recorded version of his songs or the ones we listen to in movies are no doubt amazing, but listening to Atif live is the best, and that cannot be compared to anything else.
