The times when a laptop stalls or a phone dies, and our brain scrambles to recall when we last backed up – and which memories have been lost – have occurred to the best of us. We’re increasingly relying on technology to preserve our best memories, from images of life’s great events to lists of books we’ve read and films we’ve seen. The more you can return to the present moment – to experience mode – the better. Make an effort to be aware of your surroundings, seeing, hearing, and experiencing them with all of your senses. The practice of ‘cognitive offloading,’ or outsourcing our need to remember things to the internet, is altering the way our brains retain knowledge and diminishing our capacity to recall it on our own.
However, being able to create and recollect joyful memories is critical to our general well-being, and music assists us in recalling all of our fond experiences. With his amazing melodies, Amit Trivedi is here to remind us of the good old days.
Amit Trivedi may be the only living composer who can compete with A R Rahman, the musical God. He’s so flexible that he can work his magic on everything, from aggressive rock to real classical to honey-soaked ballads to creative fusion to just plain wonderful music. Scroll down to listen to some of his lively tunes that will get you in the mood.
