A.R. Rahman Announces An All-Female Orchestra Of 23 Nationalities; Read On To Know More

The Firdaus Women's Orchestra, a 23-nationality all-women ensemble, will perform at Expo 2020 Dubai under the direction of music master AR Rahman

AR Rahman, an Oscar and Grammy-winning artist, has finally found remarkable talent to perform in an all-female orchestra at the Dubai Expo. The musician took to Instagram to release a video presenting the ‘Firdaus Orchestra,’ an outstanding all-women band made up of 23 nationalities from all over the world that will perform at the Dubai Expo 2020 under his tutelage. Conductor Yasmina Sabbah will lead the orchestra.

AR Rahman posted a video on Instagram showing all 23 women who were auditioned and chosen by the maestro. The Firdaus Orchestra is a band that “embraces many genres and civilizations in exhibiting a unique musical experience’ to transport the listener to the unknown,” according to the singer-composer’s statement. ‘Welcoming Firdaus Orchestra, an extraordinary all-women ensemble of 23 nationalities from throughout the area come together and perform under my supervision at the Expo 2020 Dubai,’ AR Rahman wrote, sharing his joy.

The event will honor human achievement and genius while also bringing people from all across the world together. According to PTI, the Firdaus Women’s Orchestra (Firdaus means “Paradise” in Arabic) will be led by Rahman, who has also named the new Firdaus Studio by AR Rahman, which will be built on the Expo 2020 site and will become a permanent department as part of Expo 2020’s legacy in the future city of District 2020.
