‘Mujhe Vo Insecure Sa Lag Raha Tha,’ says Anuradha Paudwal, explaining why she switched to devotional songs

Anuradha Paudwal, Udit Narayan, and Kumar Sanu appeared on the most recent episode of The Kapil Sharma Show. The legendary vocalist explained why she shifted from film music to religious music

Comedian Kapil Sharma and the cast of The Kapil Sharma Show never fail to leave everyone in stitches with their gags. Veteran singers Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, and Anuradha Paudwal appeared as celebrity guests on the most recent episode of TKSS (September 19). While Kumar Sanu and Udit Narayan had previously appeared on TKSS, Anuradha Paudwal, a devotional singer, was making her first appearance.

And, of course, Kapil made sure that the three legendary singers had the time of their lives on his show. The veteran singers did it all, from singing their hit songs to discussing lesser-known details about their careers. On a more serious note, Anuradha Paudwal explained why she transitioned from movies to religious music. She explained, “Hamesha, directors, producers, and kisi film ke hit hone pe (ya) hero, heroine, and unke moods be gaane milte hai. Toh thoda sa mujhe vo insecure sa lag raha tha aur devotional mujhe hamesha se accha lagta tha. So sge switched to spiritual music (singing). Because hamare paas bahut sara material hain is devotional. Itna samay nahi de pate jo aap dedicatedly nahi karo. Aashiqui, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi, ye sab filmein hit hue, uske baad phir maine transit kiya, aur devotionals kiya.”

(In the film industry, one gets to sing songs once a film becomes a smash, and it also relies on the actors’ and actresses’ emotions. As a result, she felt a little insecure. And she has always enjoyed spiritual music (music). After that, she only listened to spiritual music.)
